Question, Persuade, Refer Training (QPR)

QPR is an evidence-based program designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills to recognize the warning signs of a mental health crisis, engage in supportive conversations, and effectively refer individuals to professional resources. The QPR training is facilitated by the staff at the Emerson Wellness Center. Our goal is to provide tools and resources to create a culture that supports wellness. By participating in this training, individuals will play a vital role in building a community that is equipped to address mental health challenges and provide essential support to those in need.

QPR Training covers:

  • How to question, persuade and refer someone who may be suicidal or in distress
  • How to get help for yourself or learn more about preventing suicide
  • The common causes of suicidal behavior
  • The warning signs of suicide
  • How to get help for someone in crisis
