The Tufte Television Studios are located in the Tufte Performance and Production Center (PPC), 10 Boylston Place, 8th Floor.

The teaching facility is composed of a classroom inside a standard television control room. It provides space for lectures, demonstrations, viewings and critiques, as well as use of the standard control room video equipment and production systems. The professional 40’ X 28’ sound-treated studio contains professional cameras, a computer-driven lighting control system and other items needed for live production.

The studios are interconnected with the Journalism Production Center, the Emerson Television Channels, The Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gym, and the Cutler Majestic Theatre.

Di Bona Family Production Studio A

The 40’ X 43’ Di Bona Family Television Studio is comparable in size to network–affiliated television stations and production houses. This studio has a 14’ grid, a full complement of television lighting instruments controlled by a computer lighting system with dimmers. There is a Chromatte green-screen matting system and a curved hard infinity wall. Audience seating capacity is 65.

Di Bona Control Room

The 25’ X 21’ Di Bona control room creates the same environment found at advanced TV facilities in the United States. The facilities include the necessary flexibility and extensibility to support the rapid evolution of video technology for years to come, as content creation evolves to Ultra High Definition supporting 4K resolution, High Dynamic Range, High Frame Rates, and deeper, richer colors. The Di Bona Family control room includes the following production systems and equipment:

  • Four GrassValley LDX 86 cameras with Fujinon 17x servo lenses running at 1080p
