Ellie Beargeon is an Iraq War Veteran who served in the U.S. Army for six years before transitioning to a career in higher education. Her focal research areas are in critical military studies, and she recently presented her paper "Diverse Warriors": LGBTQ Experiences of Recruitment, Enlistment, and Service in the U.S. Armed Forces (2011-2021) at the Fall 2021 International Studies Association Northeast Conference. In addition to her academic work, Ellie has also published work in the Boston Globe and other New England based papers.

Ellie is based in Northeastern, CT. She also teaches within the Connecticut State Community College system, and at Quinnipiac University, where she was named an Inclusive Excellence in Teaching Fellow for the 2022-2023 academic year.
