Lottie is a historian specializing in a Black Nationalism, Civil Rights, and decolonization in the African diaspora with a special focus on Jamaican and African American history. Her doctoral dissertation, ““Ignoble and Unhappy Regimes Toppled and Destroyed”: Decolonizing Jamaica and American Black Activism” interrogates the complex relationship between Black activists in Jamaica and the United States, as well as the influence of Jamaican politics, culture, and social movements on Black Americans.
