Michael Boezi is a writer, educator, and 17-year publishing industry veteran with early-stage startup experience as well. He is the Owner and Managing Director of Control Mouse Media LLC, helping small business owners of all types – including writers and other creatives – build their audience using a carefully-constructed content strategy.

He produces and hosts a long-running podcast called "Marketing Without the Marketing" and offers a variety of online courses to teach content strategy to a wider audience beyond his one-to-one clients.

Before starting his own business, Michael was Vice President of Content and Community at Flat World Knowledge, a start-up publishing peer-reviewed, openly-licensed college textbooks. He built a core catalog of more than 100 titles across various subjects, taking the company from $0 revenue to $8M in four years.

Prior to that, he was Executive Editor at Pearson Education from 2004 to 2009, where he published history books and grew his list by 11% to $24M in annual revenue. He was an Acquisitions Editor at John Wiley & Sons from 2002 to 2004, and ran an $8M list in Calculus and Finite Mathematics.
