The Alumni Admission Program provides Emerson alumni with an opportunity to support the college’s admission and recruitment efforts, and connects prospective and admitted students with engaged alumni willing to talk about their experiences as Emerson students and graduates.
Ways to Volunteer
Regional College Fairs
College fairs offer alumni volunteers the opportunity to connect face-to-face with students who may be interested in our undergraduate programs. Volunteers at college fairs answer questions about the college, student experiences and student life, and some basic questions about applying to Emerson.
Regional Information Sessions
In some cities, Undergraduate Admission staff members host an information session that mirrors the session students attend when they visit campus. Alumni volunteers help check-in students, answer questions, and interact with families.
Admitted Student Events
In April, Undergraduate Admission staff members host regional receptions for admitted undergraduate students. Alumni volunteers meet students and their families and celebrate in their accomplishments! They also participate with other alumni in a Q&A style session to talk about their experiences while at Emerson and after graduating.
Boston Campus Open Houses
In the fall, Undergraduate Admission staff host several Open House events on the Boston campus for prospective students. Alumni volunteers participate in a Q&A style session with current Emerson students to talk to prospective students and their families about their experiences while at Emerson and after graduating.
Boston Campus Admitted Student Events
In the spring, Undergraduate Admission staff host several Admitted Student events on the Boston campus. Alumni volunteers participate in a Q&A style session with current Emerson students to talk to admitted students about their experiences while at Emerson and after graduating.
Outreach
Alumni volunteers are invited to answer questions by email or phone to prospective or admitted students, or offer their congratulations and advice via a writing campaign to admitted students.
