Emerson students are required to live on-campus in TWC’s Residential & Academic Facility (RAF). You’ll likely live in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with three other interns. You’ll share a bedroom and a bathroom with one other student, along with your kitchen, living, and dining area with your two other roommates. Apartments are fully furnished with a bed and dresser for each student, living room and dining room furnishings, washer/dryer and dishwasher in-unit, and even pots, pans, and cutlery already stocked in the kitchen cabinets. You’ll also find a vacuum cleaner, mop, iron, ironing board, and other daily essentials you might struggle to fit in your suitcase. If there’s something extra you may need, you’ll be within walking distances of several grocery stores and a Walmart.
Within the building, there is a full gym with cardio and weight-lifting equipment, and a business center with computers and lounges available for studying, relaxing, or catching up with your fellow interns.

The RAF is ADA accessible, and wheelchair accessible apartments are available to students that need them. TWC also allows documented service animals and emotional support animals.

Housing Assignments

Once you are accepted to the program, you will receive information from TWC regarding housing options. TWC’s Office of Student Life does not distribute housing information through postal mail. You must submit a completed Housing Reservation Form at least six (6) weeks prior to your check-in date to reserve a space in TWC’s housing. This will be done online through TWC’s website.

All persons with disabilities (physical or cognitive disability) should note accommodations and documentation within the TWC Community Profile. If you have further questions, please contact their Disability Services team at disabilityservices [at] twc.edu (disabilityservices[at]twc[dot]edu) or 202-469-8089.

Your mailing address is listed on your housing assignment letter, which is sent via email approximately 30 days prior to your check-in date. Housing assignments will only be sent to those students who have submitted a completed Housing Reservation Form. Your apartment number will not be released until check-in day as that information can often change before your arrival. No early arrivals are allowed.

Packages or mail sent to your building prior to check-in day will be turned away.

Housing Security Deposit

To reserve your spot in TWC's housing, you'll need to submit a TWC Community Profile and pay a $75 deposit, due at time of submission. This amount will be refunded to you, less any damages, within 45 days of the completion of your TWC program.

If you have financial need that prevents you from paying the housing security deposit, you can request a housing deposit waiver.
