ELA does not have an onsite dining hall and therefore cannot offer a student meal plan. However, each residential student, as part of their housing cost, will receive a limited amount of ELA Cash, which can be used at select local restaurants/vendors, and stored value cards for local supermarkets to help offset food expenses while attending the program.

Common Kitchen

The common kitchen on the fifth floor is equipped with induction cooktops, ovens, dishwashers, and microwaves so students can cook their own meals. Each suite has a private locker (equipped with a lock) that contains one large pot, one small pot, one frying pan, and a set of cooking utensils that is to be shared by all students of the suite. The kitchen also contains shared community items such as: cutting boards, strainers, measuring utensils, baking supplies, and more.

Students are required to wash their own dishes and should clean up any mess created while cooking. Students should not leave anything out in the community kitchen area or it will be thrown away. Students are responsible for replacing any missing kitchen supplies that were provided by the college.

Outdoor BBQ

The weather in LA is perfect for grilling year round and students can use the outdoor grills at any time! Each of the three BBQ grills are designated for a specific type of grilling, so please be mindful of the signs!

Kitchen etiquette

Students should not leave anything out in the community kitchen area or it will be thrown away. Please keep the area clean and wash your dishes.

Off-Campus dining

There is an abundance of restaurants and food trucks on Sunset Boulevard and in the Hollywood area if students have a hankering for something off-campus!
