Marlboro Institute for Liberal Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies

Create your own major
When Marlboro College was founded in Marlboro, Vermont, in 1946, it was built on the idea that students could craft their own education, engage in self-directed inquiry, and bring a big idea to life from conception to execution. Now, in the wake of a historic alliance, Marlboro’s legacy lives on at Emerson College.

Honors Program

Emerson’s Honors Program is an intellectual and creative community that features a challenging liberal arts curriculum. Students accepted to the program receive individual advising and take interdisciplinary seminars that fulfill the College’s liberal arts requirements.

Explore Performing Arts

Theatre is more than a craft; it’s a way of connecting with others, approaching challenges, and engaging the world. Whether you aspire to be an actor, designer, stage manager, teacher, director, dramaturg, playwright, or are searching for your place in the arts, Emerson’s BFA programs will give you the necessary tools to focus your creative talents toward a fulfilling career—and life—in the theatre.

Communication Disorders

In Emerson College’s Communication Disorders (BS) program, you’ll have the opportunity to study the anatomical, structural, and biological basis of human communication and grow your knowledge of both theory and practice.

Global BFA in Film Art

For centuries, the world’s greatest thinkers and artists have traveled to Paris to learn, create, and find inspiration. Students now have an opportunity to do the same in the Global BFA in Film Art program, studying film as a fine art in the heart of Paris.

Global BA Programs with Franklin University Switzerland

Emerson College believes producing inspired work requires a global perspective. This global mindset extends to the partnership between Emerson and Franklin University Switzerland, which grants students the unparalleled opportunity to pursue one of two dual-degree programs: a Global BA in Business of Creative Enterprises or a Global BA in International and Political Communication.
