As an off-campus student, you are still as much a part of the Emerson community as an on-campus resident. Be sure to keep an eye out for commuter-specific programs, on-campus events, and involvement opportunities throughout the school year!

Community Ambassadors

The Community Ambassador (CA) is an experienced Emerson College student who is a key member of the OCSS. The Community Ambassador, supervised by the Assistant Director of Off-Campus Student Services, primarily helps first-time renters transition to off-campus college life and mentors students who commute to campus.

The Daily Commute

The Daily Commute is an informal blog written BY off-campus students FOR off-campus students. Our Community Ambassador team shares commuting playlists, great food spots, subway tips, interviews of current off campus students, and much more! Check back daily for off-campus awesomeness.

Apartment Workshops

Year-round workshops that include everything from how to find an apartment, to personal budgeting, using the T, how to be a good neighbor, cooking on your own, and much more!

Stay Connected

How do you stay connected to the campus community as an off-campus or commuter student? How can you find contact information for local utility companies? The OCSS staff can provide you with the answers to these questions and more at our Stay Connected table throughout the year. Check out our Instagram or campus emails for on-going updates!

Student Life & Activities

Emerson students are doers and learners, even after class is over for the day. Whether it’s directing a studio production for The Emerson Channel, rehearsing a routine for the Emerson Dance Company, or DJing at WERS-FM, Emerson students are constantly creating and collaborating. With more than 80 student organizations and 14 varsity sports, plus the numerous opportunities here in Boston, there really is something for everyone.

If you choose to participate in this program, you will be able to pick up your passes near the start of the semester.  You will be sent an email with further instructions once passes are ready to be picked up on campus. Your pass will not be mailed to you; likewise, no confirmation of your order will be sent. Please also note that we cannot issue refunds once you purchase into the program.
