Purpose
The Emerson College Iris Headshot Photo Booth, located on the 2nd floor of Walker, outside the Office of Student Success, 120 Boylston Street, is provided as a resource for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to obtain high-quality digital professional headshots for career, academic, and personal branding purposes at no cost. The booth is accessible during normal operational hours of the Walker Building and no appointment is necessary.
The Iris Headshot Photo Booth is provided to the Emerson College community by the Office of Student Success in partnership with the Career Development Center and is generously funded through the Student Assistance Fund.
The booth is available to all currently active Emerson College students, faculty and staff, in-house vendors, and Emerson College alumni.
Usage Guidelines
Cost
This service is free for all Emerson College students, faculty, staff, in-house vendors, and Emerson College alumni.
Scheduling
- Members of the Emerson College community may use the booth on a walk-in basis or by coordinated appointment.
- One user may enter the booth at a time
- The self-service booth is available when the Walker Building is open.
- At this time, the booth is not available for organization or departmental use, but individuals from groups and departments are welcome to take their own photos.
Time Limit
- Each session is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes to ensure fair access to all community members.
- There is no limit to the number of seatings a user may take.
Appropriate Use
- The booth is intended for digital professional headshot photos only.
- Users should dress authentically, professionally, or appropriately for their career path for professional or academic purposes.
- Note: photos are only taken from the waist up.
- Should you need professional attire, please consider visiting the Emerson College Career Closet.
- We encourage users to dress in what makes them feel comfortable and confident! We recommend taking a look at other headshots online for inspiration and considering their personal style and preferences.
- Photos MUST not contain inappropriate gestures, props, or nudity.
- Please note that the Office of Student Success has administrative access to all photos and reviews them periodically to ensure appropriate use and content.
- Inappropriate use will result in suspension of future access to the booth, as well as referral to the Office of Community Standards (students) or EthicsPoint (faculty, staff, vendors) for potential disciplinary action.

Conduct
- Users are expected to respect the equipment and space.
- Any misuse or damage may result in loss of privileges.
Saving and Printing Photos
- Users are responsible for downloading and saving their images immediately after the session.
- Emerson College is not responsible for lost or unsaved files.
- Should you wish to print your digital photos, we recommend using the printing services at the Emerson College Print Copy Center.
How it Works
- The Iris photo booth is self-service with a touch screen, high-quality lighting, and camera equipment.

- Information about getting ready for your photo session can be found on the Iris Booth product website.
- When your session begins, you will enter the Iris Booth, sit on the adjustable stool, and follow the prompts on the screen.
- You may stand if you prefer.
- You will be asked to enter your Emerson College email address and accept the terms to continue.
- To take and edit your photos, follow the prompts on the screen.
- Edits include: teeth whitening, blemish removal, skin softening, etc.
- You may further edit your photos after your session on your own device.
- The booth will take a series of three (3) photos during your session.
- You must have all 3 photos taken during your session for the photos to be saved to the system.
- Your photos are immediately emailed to you for downloading and you may edit at your convenience.
Technical Support
- If technical issues arise, students should report them to the Office of Student Success at headshotphotobooth [at] emerson.edu (headshotphotobooth[at]emerson[dot]edu) or by walking into Walker 211 during business hours.
- Support staff are available during specified hours for troubleshooting.
- During the academic year: Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- During the summer and break sessions: Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Fridays 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Privacy and Data Usage
- Photos taken in the booth are not permanently stored by Emerson College. Users should ensure they retrieve their images before exiting the session.
- The College does not use or share photos taken in the Iris Photo Booth without expressed and written permission.
