The on-campus Musical Theatre Studio program introduces you to the rigors of Emerson's nationally renowned undergraduate BFA training in musical theater. The four-week program, eligible for four college credits, focuses on technique-based training in skill development for singing, acting, dance and song interpretation and reflects on the training in the Emerson BFA Musical Theatre Program, which emphasizes process. The priority is not on performance or production, but on the fundamentals, vocabulary and discipline of the craft. Preparation for college admission auditions as well as business protocol in the industry will also be addressed.

The faculty members have Broadway, regional, national touring, summer stock, television and film credits, and draw from these experiences to create a dynamic cross between scholarship and rigorous training. Alumni and current upper-level students of the BFA Musical Theatre Program at Emerson college are also invited to round out the faculty.

During the last week of the program, students who are rising seniors are offered an option to audition for the BFA Musical Theatre Program at Emerson for future admittance consideration.

Musical Theatre Studio is offered as a noncredit or college credit program option.
