College Health & Safety

Emerson is providing this information based on its current plans and in accordance with health and safety information currently available.  Emerson may, in its discretion, or under direction of government or health authorities, change plans regarding modalities of courses or activities, and physical access to any facilities.

As of Monday, May 2, in accordance with health and safety information currently available, the College has decided to pivot to a remote online format for all Pre-College Summer programs. This means that there will be no in-person Pre-College programs or student housing on the Emerson College campus in July and August.

The Arts & Communication Pre-College Programs offer challenging one, two, and five-week summer programs for high school students. Pre-College at Emerson offerings are intensive, fun, and designed to teach students competitive, practical skills in one academic area of communication and the arts. A few select programs can also be completed for academic credit.

For the past two summers, Emerson has successfully delivered all of our Pre-College programs in a remote online format. Our instructors have tailored each program for online learning, interaction, and ensuring each student has a fulfilling, rewarding experience. Programs will be offered remotely, in a synchronous live format while using Zoom, with asynchronous elements using our Canvas online learning management software and Google Suite.

Programs offered:

  • Acting (5 weeks)
  • Creative Writers (5 weeks)
  • Design/Technology for Stage & Screen (5 weeks)
  • Digital Filmmakers (5 weeks)
  • Marketing + Creative Enterprise (1 week)
  • Musical Theatre (5 weeks)
  • Politics, Activism, & Leadership (2 weeks)
  • TV Writing & Production (2 weeks)
