How does a person’s cultural background influence their behavior as a consumer? Why does someone choose one brand of flavored water over another? What are the underlying elements of a successful product launch? These are the kinds of questions that students explore—and answer—in Emerson College’s Department of Marketing Communication.
About the Department
Housed in the School of Communication, the Department of Marketing Communication offers undergraduate programs in Business of Creative Enterprises, Marketing Communication, and Media Psychology and graduate programs in Business of Creative Enterprises, Marketing, and Strategic Marketing Communication. We also offer two graduate certificate programs in Marketing Analytics and Digital Marketing for professionals looking to strengthen their skill sets.
Many current Emerson undergraduates have the opportunity to obtain a master’s degree in one year through our 4+1 MA in Strategic Marketing Communication program.
Marketing Communication faculty are seasoned marketers who teach students how to apply sophisticated marketing principles in a variety of real-world contexts—from the arts, sports, and entertainment industries to consumer product companies and nonprofits. While the knowledge and skills that students gain in the classroom are pivotal, some of their most valuable experiences and worthwhile collaborations will occur through participation in student organizations.
Whether students are interested in strategic marketing, marketing communication, or entrepreneurship, Emerson’s Department of Marketing Communication offers a curriculum uniquely designed to prepare them as future marketing leaders.
