On March 22, 2024, Emerson College celebrated the Inauguration of Dr. Jay M. Bernhardt as the 13th President in an Investiture Ceremony that featured welcoming remarks from Emerson community members alongside local leaders, and as well as student and alumni musical performances.

The occasion was celebrated with a series of festivities aptly named Celebrate Emerson. The weeklong event highlighted the best of Emerson College and included a comedy show, film festival, and recital.

I’ve heard countless students and alumni say Emerson is where they found their people, their place, and their voice. And that’s precisely how I feel today….In terms of my beliefs, my priorities, and my values, I’ve always been Emersonian. That’s why being here feels like coming home, and I’m so glad to be home.

Celebrating Emerson

On March 20–22, 2024, a number of special events were held that showcased the creative talents and academic excellence of Emersonians, including an oratory recital, comedy and film festivals, and academic panels. The Investiture Ceremony was held on March 22 at the Cutler Majestic Theatre with a community celebration reception held immediately following.
