The Program for Speech Improvement provides services to children and adults who seek to improve their communication effectiveness. Evaluation and therapy sessions focus on aspects of speech and voice, including:

  • Accent modification
  • Voice modification (transgender, performer)
  • Voice disorders (hoarseness and vocal pathology)
  • Stuttering

Concerns regarding speech and voice often cause self-consciousness, which may interfere with social interaction, academic performance, and professional development.  The evaluation process explores and documents an individual’s speech patterns and voice production, and identifies strategies to address them. Treatment sessions address not only the improvement of speech and vocal characteristics, but also the underlying physiological causes and the psychosocial effects.
