Housing

You'll be staying in one of Emerson’s five residence halls. Most of our guests stay in double-occupancy rooms. However, a limited number of singles are available.

Double-occupancy rooms come with two standard-size twin beds, two desks, two chairs, two dressers, and closet space for two people. All rooms have overhead lighting and air-conditioning. You may bring a mini-refrigerator and/or microwave if you wish. Each building has laundry facilities and suites have their own common area and bathroom facilities. You can receive mail and packages while staying on campus.

If you should have any questions during your stay or require any assistance, our full-time staff, including a full-time Summer Conference Director, will be able to assist you at any time.

Dining

The Summer Conference Program offers a variety of dining options. Several combinations are available, and each can be fine-tuned to meet your group's specific needs.

Security

The Emerson campus is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week by a full-time Emerson College Police Department staff. Access to campus buildings is controlled through a front desk. All guests are given identification cards that are used to gain entrance.

Although Boston is a safe city, Emerson College reminds all guests to exercise caution when traveling alone or at night.

Meeting & Classroom Space

The Summer Conference Program provides classrooms, meeting rooms, and social gathering spaces. The Bordy Theater, Beard Room and Gymnasium  are all available to rent during your stay.

Emerson's classrooms are state-of-the-art, providing students the latest audio, video, and production equipment available. Classroom capacities range from 20 to 80 people.

Student Staff

Emerson College Summer Conferences rely on a dedicated group of student staff members to ensure processes operate smoothly and guests are taken care of.  Student staff are provided housing for the summer in an Emerson College Residence Hall, and have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours a week. Summer Conferences start directly after commencement, and will last until mid-August.  For more information, please contact the Conference Manager, Jennifer Rogers. Applications for the following positions will be available in January via the Student Employment portal.

All applications will be reviewed and interviews will be conducted in February.  All decisions will be made and communicated to applicants by Spring Break so that appropriate plans can be made.  There will be a few training dates planned for April, and CA’s and Senior Staff will be expected to move into summer housing on Monday, May 15.

Expected hours: The volume of summer conferences we have on campus varies widely during the summer.  Some weeks may see only 10-15 hours per CA, while other weeks (particularly in July) may see some CAs logging 30+ hours.
