Qualified Emerson students may apply to spend either the Fall or Spring semester at Lingnan University in Hong Kong, China, one of Asia’s most cosmopolitan and also historic cities.
Regarded as one of Asia’s premier liberal arts institutions, Lingnan University adopts a whole-person approach to education which enables its students to think, judge, care and, ultimately, act responsibly in the changing circumstances of Hong Kong, the region and the world. Participating students will be able to enjoy a residential campus environment, with small classes led by faculty from all over the world. Core to its mission, “Education for Service,” Lingnan also integrates service learning and community engagement into their curricula, seeking to develop well-rounded and conscientious graduates.
Emerson students enrolled at Lingnan University are able to take courses that meet General Education, Global Diversity and Language requirements, and may also progress towards their majors by taking courses that fulfill Liberal Arts, Journalism and Honors requirements.
Located in the center of the Asia-Pacific region and boasting an impressive network of transportation options, Hong Kong offers students a convenient gateway into Mainland China and also to Southeast Asia, Korea and Japan. A truly international city, Hong Kong also provides students with an opportunity to develop a new, global network of friends over the course of their semester.
