Office of Communications and Marketing

The Office of Communications and Marketing consists of three teams: Communications and Media Relations, Marketing, and Web & Digital Services. We are committed to telling Emerson’s story through news, media, marketing collateral, multimedia, social media, and our website and apps. 


Leadership

The Interim Vice President, Marketing and Communications, oversees and leads the strategic branding and storytelling work of the Office.

Communication & Media Relations

The Communications and Media Relations team handles all elements of external and internal communication at Emerson College, including public relations, crisis communications, and institutional messaging. The team also manages the publication of Emerson Today, the College’s internal news and information site; and Expression, Emerson’s magazine for alumni and friends of the College.

The News and Information team keeps the Emerson community informed about all aspects of the College with breaking news, feature stories, event listings, community messages, a weekly events newsletter, and institutional announcements via Emerson Today. Media and Public Relations

Media and Public Relations ensures that Emerson’s extraordinary stories are told beyond the College’s campuses through strategic media pitches and productive relationships with trusted media partners, and works to safeguard and elevate the College’s reputation.

Los Angeles Campus

LA Communications generates news stories, social media content, marketing materials, and advertising for the award-winning Emerson College Los Angeles program.

Marketing

The Marketing team brings vision, cohesion, and measurable outcomes to a wide array of marketing projects. They manage initiatives from concept to execution, serving as relationship managers for clients across the institution and sharing insights, data, and ideas with the community.

Leadership

The Marketing leadership team liaises with campus leaders to advance all types of Marketing projects across the College.

Account Management and Strategy

The Account Management and Strategy team collaborates with departments to understand their marketing goals and develop strategies and campaigns based on those goals, liaises with marketing teams for content creation, tracks campaign performance, analyzes data to make informed decisions, and provides regular updates to departments. The Account team is also the main point of contact for any new marketing project or initiative.

Content Strategy and Editorial Services

The Content Strategy and Editorial Services team is composed of exceptional storytellers who strategize, create, edit, and curate dynamic content across multiple channels, platforms, and media to bring Emerson’s brand to life.

Creative Services

The Creative Services team manages visual storytelling across all projects, ensuring Emerson stories are told through vibrant design and consistent branding for digital and print collateral.

Multimedia

The Multimedia team tells the stories of the Emerson community through dynamic photography and video. From YouTube and Instagram videos to event photography and headshots, the Multimedia team has your visual needs covered.

Social Media

The Social Media team manages the sharing of information and content across the College’s various social channels, creates unique media for special initiatives, and provides support and direction to individual programs and groups on their social presence.

Web & Digital Services

The Web & Digital Services team manages the College's digital properties, in addition to identifying strategies to foster rich and lasting engagement among its constituents. Among their offerings, they provide direction on site development, search engine optimization (SEO), user experience (UX), digital accessibility, content layout, and more. 

Leadership

Web Services leadership manages strategy across Emerson’s digital properties, and serves as a central resource for best practices in digital accessibility.

Development

The Development team manages the platform and technical infrastructure for the College’s public websites and its mobile app. The team ensures that all sites are current, modern, and compliant.

Digital Services

The Digital Services team manages all aspects of the College’s flagship digital property, emerson.edu. Through an accessibility lens, they apply best practices to content revision requests ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

Digital Strategy and Data Analytics

The Digital Strategy and Data Analytics team analyzes digital marketing campaigns, optimizes search engine marketing (SEM) and paid social efforts to boost lead generation and enrollment, and stays ahead of digital trends to ensure the College's competitive edge. They collaborate across departments to track performance metrics, manage search engine optimization (SEO) initiatives, and serve as the liaison with digital marketing agencies.

Mobile

The Mobile team manages myEmerson, the College’s portal/mobile app, and collaborates with offices across campus to ensure timely and accurate information and communication.
