The Office of Marketing and Communications brings the Emerson experience to life by creating, sharing, and amplifying stories that spotlight the College’s extraordinary faculty, staff, students, and alumni as they innovate, collaborate, and create. We are proud to be the College’s storytellers. Our strategic work includes content creation, media relations, internal communications, creative design, and marketing.

Our team supports Extraordinary Emerson 2030 by elevating Emerson’s branding, positioning, marketing, media, and engagement with priority audiences and strengthening internal communication, engagement, and collaboration among students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

We keep our campus community informed about College-wide initiatives, research, events, and news through internal communications channels including our news site, alumni magazine, and internal newsletters.

We also promote our community’s stories to a broader external audience through marketing collateral, multimedia, social media, and media relations.

In collaboration with our campus partners, we support marketing and communications initiatives that:

  • Showcase the achievements and creativity of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni;
  • Advance institutional goals and strategic priorities;
  • Boost enrollment and retention and support institutional advancement;
  • Strengthen our brand and enhance our reputation.
     

Meet Our Teams

Office of the Vice President & Institutional Communications

The Office of the Vice President consists of the division’s management team, which is responsible for collaborating with the President’s Office and other campus offices. The Institutional Communications team produces all internal campus-wide emails and newsletters, and also manages strategic external relations, including proactive and reactive media relations.

Brand and Design & Editorial

The Brand and Design team is responsible for Emerson’s visual brand and manages our brand identity and design strategy for marketing and communications collateral. The Editorial team develops and executes our storytelling work across all channels, sharing important news and compelling content about Emerson and the members of our extraordinary community.

Marketing and Communications Project Requests

Our team manages campus wide marketing and communications initiatives and works with teams across the College to:

  • Assess strategic alignment and project scope;
  • Identify appropriate resources and timelines;
  • Ensure your project receives the right level of support and cross-divisional collaboration, when needed.
