There are also plenty of employment opportunities in the area surrounding Emerson College. We recommend that you check out job boards like Indeed, LinkedIn, or Handshake for outside work.
The Career Development Center has plenty of resources to steer you in the right direction, especially when it comes to internships and job opportunities post grad.
The Office of Student Employment will not post outside job opportunities to our job board unless the organization is one of our Service Work Study Partners.
We ask students to use caution when applying for employment off-campus. Please be wary of scams and fraud, like the following:
- You are asked to give credit card, bank account or PayPal account numbers.
- You are asked to send a payment by wire service or courier.
- You are offered a large payment or reward in exchange for allowing the use of your bank account—often for depositing checks o transferring money.
- You receive an unexpectedly large check.
- You are asked to transfer money.
- You are asked for personal information, such as your Social Security Number.
- You are requested to send a photocopy of your ID, i.e., driver's license to "verify identity".
- The posting appears to come from a legitimate company or organization, but the contact's e-mail address doesn't match the company's website domain.
If you receive a phishing attempt through your Emerson email, please maihelpdesk [at] emerson.edu (contact the IT Help Desk) and review their guide on avoiding phishing scams.
