Our Giving Priorities
Student Assistance Fund
The Student Assistance Fund makes small awards to help eligible students with indirect costs of attendance such as books, printing and copying, film, developing, other required course supplies, personal items, transportation, and food. This fund was established primarily through the generous support of Emerson staff and faculty members, demonstrating their commitment to the success of Emerson students inside and outside the classroom.
Student Assistance Fund (SAF) award amounts generally range in value from $10 to a few hundred dollars. Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students may apply. Applicants submit their requests to the Office of Student Success and must indicate the specific purpose(s) of their request, including item(s) and estimated costs, in the short online application.
Mary Burrill Diversity Scholarship
The Mary Burrill Scholarship was established in 2002 to honor Mary Burrill, the first woman of color to graduate from Emerson, and to promote and support diversity at the College. The scholarship is awarded to students in the incoming freshmen class from a diverse and/or economically disadvantaged background, and is renewable all four years.
The Lion's Fund (Athletics)
The Lion’s Fund supports the Athletic Department in areas of greatest need as determined by the Director of Athletics.
School of the Arts Dean’s Fund
This fund was established to help the Dean meet the emerging needs of the School of the Arts at Emerson College. Funds are spent by the Dean of the School of the Arts at their discretion.
School of Communication Dean’s Fund
This fund was established to help the Dean meet the emerging needs of the School of Communication at Emerson College. Funds are spent by the Dean of the School of Communication at their discretion.
The Marlboro Institute Fund
This fund was established to help the Dean meet the emerging needs of the Marlboro Institute at Emerson College. Funds are spent by the Dean of the Institute at their discretion.
