The Career Development Center offers education, support, and guidance throughout every step of your future or current career search. Our expert Career Counselors work one-on-one with you to help create and guide a career plan matching your interests, experience, and goals.
Current students can start career conversations as early as their first year by taking advantage of the following resources and services.
1-on-1 Career Counseling
Undergraduate and Graduate Students can connect with a member of our career counseling staff at any time throughout the year, including Winter and Summer Break. Our office is available for appointments Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on any day other than national holidays.
Appointments can be scheduled for 30 minutes or 1 hour, depending on the topic. Appointment topics include:
- Resume & Cover Letter Review
- Interview Preparation
- Job and/or Internship Search Preparation
- International Student Support
- Graduate Student Support
All current students can schedule an appointment via Handshake. Prospective students should contact careers [at] emerson.edutitle="E-mail Career Development Center" with any questions.
Our office provides industry-specific resources ranging from how-to guides to collections of area-specific job and internship boards. Undergraduate and Graduate Resources can be accessed anytime via Careerbuzz, our office’s blog and resource library.
Job & Internship Support
The Career Center provides Emerson students with numerous job and internship opportunities via Handshake.
Students are able to explore hundreds, sometimes thousands, of roles updated daily by employers we have approved for posting. Using Handshake, students can access and apply to all of these opportunities while also having the chance to connect directly with prospective employers, past interns, and other students using the platform.
Students seeking for-credit internship experiences are encouraged to visit our Internship Requirements page for more information on for-credit opportunities.
Graduate Students come from a variety of backgrounds between recent undergraduates to established professionals looking to change their career field. Our office is dedicated to providing you with the specific resources and counseling you need to achieve your career goals regardless of your level of experience.
Jessica Chance, our liaison to Graduate Student and Alumni and career counselor for students, is dedicated to providing advice to guide your professional development in addition to sharing our Graduate-specific resources with you throughout your time at Emerson College.
You may schedule an appointment to discuss:
- Career Planning
- Interview Coaching
- Professional Branding
Connect with Alumni
Current students are encouraged to connect with Emerson College alumni using Emerge, a new online community where Emersonians can connect with each other to discover career conversations, industry opportunities, and potential mentors. Sign up for an account by visiting emerge.emerson.edu.
