The Entrepreneurial Studies minor, hosted in the Department of Marketing Communication, teaches students what it means to be an entrepreneur. They gain an understanding of the role of the entrepreneur in a for-profit venture, a nonprofit organization, or as a social entrepreneur or an intrapreneur bringing innovation to a large corporate environment. Students strengthen their critical thinking and problem solving skills, test for market sustainability, craft business plans, and calculate startup costs. They then develop pitch presentations, and engage partners and resources for their innovative ventures.
