EmersonWRITES

EmersonWRITES is a college-style creative writing workshop. Courses are in person on Emerson's Boston campus or online from October to December, with a Showcase and book launch in January. Our teachers are graduate students in Emerson's MFA/MA program in Writing and Publishing, and have been trained to teach college-level writing in the award-winning Writing Studies Program. EmersonWRITES fosters individual voice and empowerment through the written word.

EmersonTHEATER

EmersonTHEATER is a performing arts playmaking project that empowers students to develop and perform original pieces through playmaking focused on issues that affect their lives and worlds. Rehearsals are in person on Emerson’s Boston campus on Saturdays from October through April. Taught by Associate Professor Bethany Nelson, EmersonTHEATER provides an enriched educational experience that builds critical thinking and life skills, develops students’ voices and theatre/performance skills, and explores material and social circumstances to empower students to consider their roles as change agents.
