Artistic Applications and Artistic Reviews

All applications to programs in the Emerson College Department of Performing Arts include 3 steps. These must be completed in the order listed below and each has a distinct timeline. Your application cannot be considered until all 3 steps have been completed.

Step 1.

Apply to Emerson College. You may only apply for Fall admission and you may only apply to one Emerson program.

Within 2 to 3 business days after receiving your application to Emerson College, the Office of Undergraduate Admission will email you an Emerson Admission ID Number. Your Emerson Admission ID Number will arrive in an email with the subject line "Thank you for applying to Emerson College!" along with your Username and PIN for the Emerson Application Portal. You may need to scroll down in the email to retrieve your Emerson Admission ID Number.

You must submit your Emerson Admission ID Number as a part of your Artistic Application in Acceptd in Step 2 below. This connects the two applications so submitting the wrong ID will create processing delays. Although transcripts and recommendations are due by the application deadline, they are not a requirement for receiving an Emerson Admission ID Number.

As soon as you have your Emerson Admission ID Number you are ready for Step 2.

Step 2.

Submit an Artistic Application and pay the non-refundable $30 Artistic Application fee* in Acceptd. The program that you select in your Artistic Application on Acceptd must match the program that you select in your Emerson College Application.

You can preview the major-specific Artistic Application requirements by selecting your major from the list on the right of this page.

Step 3.

Schedule and Complete an Artistic Review. Once you have submitted your Artistic Application you will have access to schedule your required interview or audition in Acceptd by navigating to Schedule > My Timeslots > Select Timeslot. Musical Theatre applicants will need to pass a prescreen prior to scheduling an audition.

Applicants are responsible for scheduling their own Artistic Review through Acceptd. Slots begin filling up as early as August and waiting until the deadline may severely limit, and possibly eliminate, your scheduling options. We strongly encourage starting this process as early as possible.

Fees & Waivers

*Fee waivers can help applicants reduce the cost of applying to college. Acceptd offers fee waivers for Artistic Applications and Emerson College offers them for both Artistic and Emerson College Application fees. Requesting a fee waiver will not affect your application in any way so, if you are enduring financial hardship, we encourage you to request one from your Emerson College Admission Counselor. Your Admission Counselor is determined by the region they cover and they are listed on our "Meet Our Staff" page with their email; please email your Admission Counselor directly.
